Yellow & Fluffy

With the weather turning slightly more chilly I've started pulling out the thick knits. I love this yellow fluffy jumper by Acne. The only problem? It sheds fluorescent fuzz onto everything and everyone that makes contact with it. I still love it though.

Stare at the cross

Do you remember the Topshop Unique show? It was awesome. I've been obsessed with it ever since February. As you know, I'm trying to invest in quality functional wardrobe pieces. Like most people I (sadly) don't have a bottomless budget. I like shopping from high street stores when I can find good pieces.

I've been obsessed with it ever since February. As you know, I'm trying to invest in quality functional wardrobe pieces. Like most people I (sadly) don't have a bottomless budget. I like shopping from high street stores when I can find good pieces. This is why the Topshop show rocked my world so much this past season. The collection was freaky-naughty and stuffed full of pieces I'd love to have in my wardrobe.

Imagine my absolute over-the-moon insane excitement then when I caught wind of the fact that the collection is hitting store next week. Yes, next week. The team were kind enough to send this top over to me in Zurich to try out. Yes, it is amazing. I loved it from the moment I pulled the silky slouchy oversized little number out of its cardboard box. I rubbed it against my cheek and whispered, 'you and me were born to be together.' Okay. I didn't actually do that. This is what you really need to know though: the Topshop Uniqe AW12 collection is hitting stores on Monday. This top will retail for  £75 and if you want to be my twinsie you will get yourself one. I've already requested to have one put on hold because (sadly) the one I'm wearing has to be returned and, double-sady, there is no Topshop in Zurich.

p.s. I wore it into town the other day to check out all the sales... I perved big time on Trois Pommes and their Celine collection. #Drool

Leather & Flares

Brown leather. White linen cropped top. Bell bottom jeans. If you asked me a month ago, I'd laugh in \ at the mere mention of these items. Surely they are outdated and totally uncool. Well, wide legs have started creeping into my life. It's scary but I'm having the desire to swap out my skinnies for trousers with a looser fit. Uh-oh.

Well, wide legs have started creeping into my life. It's scary but I've started having the desire to swap out my skinnies for trousers with a looser fit. Uh-oh. The tectonic plates of fashion are shifting... and I'm mildly scared. Errr... anyway. I love this white linen top. It has an elasticated waist and sits right at my belly button. Yeah, technically it's belly baring but if you wear it with something high-waisted it looks like an ordinary top. I like. I'm still uncertain how I feel about baring my belly... it just doesn't seem very lady like.

p.s. I'm mega addicted to my little collection of Tank Books. They are adora-bable and are operating as my go-to accessory... until I get a puppy.

Wearing: Paul & Joe Sister jacket, Koto Bolofo white linen top from Anthropologie, J Brand jeans, Moheda Toffeln clogs, Bottletop Luciana bagTank books Kafka edition and random friendship bracelet found at a market.

White Leather

Last week I got to spend the day with my love Charlie May in East London. We rode Boris Bikes, which I thought would be horrifying, but actually were so much fun. If you're in London get your booty onto one. You'll be glad you did.

White leather a la Charlie May

It's the weekend and I'm itching to get outside.

So let's just keep this sweet and simple. Last week I got to spend the day with my love Charlie May in East London. We rode Boris Bikes, which I thought would be horrifying, but actually were so much fun. If you're in London get your booty onto one. You'll be glad you did. Just ride responsibly, ok? Make sure you look over your shoulder, signal, and all that good safety shizz.

By the way, how freaking awesome is the leather jacket? Charlie let me wear it only after I promised to run my entire house off the generated energy of a group of people cycling. Uhhh... sorry Charlie, I lied, I'm not going to do that.

Black & White

Completely obsessed with this simple slouchy silk dress. Love the oversized arm holes and elongated back. Thank god I put on a pair of shorts underneath - the wind was acting like a nasty mother. Marilyn Monroe might be chic but no one needs to see my (heart print) pants.

Hiiiii from London. Yes, I'm still here. I'm writing to you from the sofa of Charlie and Lexxie's house where I've been staying. Thankfully they haven't thrown me to the streets yet. The UK's bipolar weather patterns are starting to wear on me. Clear skies are a massive rarity. When they hit people go mental with excitement and sweaty men decide it's acceptable to walk around with their shirts off (eww). The weekend was awesome because it was el scorchio which meant I could go bare legged. Nothing makes me happier. Now it's freaking freezing again. Boo. The misery.

France

Although leather baseball hats are currently all the rage, I'd just like to say that are actually really stupid. If it's hot the last thing you want to wear is a black freaking leather hat... when I stood in the sun my head was boiling. England, this trend was made for you.

There's nothing I love more than being swept off to a far away city...

Errr, I say that from my sofa where I've spent the last four days sitting on my tush nibbling on random bits of chocolate bunnies and staring at a TV. Did anyone else fall for the wonderfulness that is where me keys? Please, tell me I'm not alone. The most exciting thing I'd planned for this long holiday weekend was painting my nails and I haven't even managed to get that done. I promise, I'm not always quite this useless. The weather went all wintery a couple of day ago and I had no choice but to throw myself head-first into hibernation mode as soon as snow starting falling.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Paris to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. As a total Disney nut I naturally jumped at the opportunity. Vienna International Hotels were the most wonderful hosts and I was super excited to go because my husband got to come along for the ride and Shini also came from London. We all stayed at the Dream Castle Hotel and, when we weren't spinning around on the teacups, saw a cabaret show, watched the Eiffel Tower glitter at midnight and spent a morning at Chateau Fontainebleau jumping on Marie Antoinette's bed (just kidding.. it was roped off). We got in earlier than anyone else and before lunch I managed to sneak in a run, a swim and spent half an hour in the sauna.

At Chateau Fontainebleau I just about keeled over - incredible beauty burst out of every bit of the building. The rooms were the epitome of anti-minimalism. Decadence and lavish embellishment were in mighty abundance... my white walls look grossly inadequate now.

It has all my favorite things: Patouf jumper, 7 for all Mankind jeans, Mykita sunglasses, white Converse, Muriee cashmere scarf and Shini's leather hat (that I snuck out of her suitcase). I've never been that drawn to France but after this trip I'm aching to go back, even if it's just to visit L'ATMO again for lunch...

Tricia's Varsity Jacket

'Varsity jackets are so in right now, don't you know? Hello, everyone from Alexander Wang to Proenza Schouler has shown them. Sure, they might be all over the high street but those knockoffs ain't got nothing on this little vintage one.' Err, just kidding.

'Varsity jackets are so in right now, don't you know? Hello, everyone from Alexander Wang to Proenza Schouler has shown them. Sure, they might be all over the high street but those knockoffs ain't got nothing on this little vintage one.'

Err, just kidding. When I found this little gem of a jacket crammed on a rail at an antique mall in the mid-west a couple weeks ago my family didn't even look a bit perplexed or seek an explanation. My sister did, however, suppress a gag reflex every time I insisted on putting it on. Whether that was due to her viewing me as a sartorial pariah or the jacket's musty smell, well... I'll never know.

I couldn't bare to leave this item behind so I forked out $12 and left feeling giddy with my purchase. Made from recycled wool, the fabric is so heavy and thick it'll make you sweat on even the coldest days. The hood unzips to reveal 'Tricia', the original owner at the back and the pockets are lined with white leather. It's cliche and, at the moment, a bit annoyingly trendy but I kind of love this jacket.

Lake life

Last night I returned home from a weekend spent in the Cotswolds. Without internet I felt refreshingly disconnected from the world despite being just a couple hours away from London. Being back in Zurich though feels equally peaceful. The pace of life here is so relaxed that it's hard not to feel as though you're on a permanent weekend away.

On a separate note, the dis-functionality of my wardrobe has become increasingly apparent. Alright, it might not be as bad as it was circa January 2010 when I did a little closet confession. But it's still not good. I could likely list the items I wear regularly on two hands and as a result it's time for another closet gutting (blog shop coming soon). Instead of having lots of items I rarely wear I'd rather invest in classics. This shirt is a perfect example. Although you can' get any more basic than a white shirt this one has some special little features that make it truly covetable. Made from 100% silk, it has double slits at both sides plus is cut longer at the front and back. The thicker panelling across the chest creates a bit of contrast and added interest. I love the idea of having simple items that have a little twist. The fact that it's made by new young British designers Louise Rhodes and Amy Moreton is the icing on top.

Keystone Crescent

Spending a week in London with LA photographer Laurel Dailey was absolute bliss. We met last year on a little project for Quiksilver and she kindly made the trip back out to the UK to shoot my friend's wedding. We discovered this little gem of a street, called Keystone Crescent, thanks to a midnight stroll with our wonderful host Leo from the Rough Luxe.

We discovered this little gem of a street, called Keystone Crescent, thanks to a midnight stroll with our wonderful host Leo from the Rough Luxe. The next morning we ventured back out to see it in the daylight with ice-cream cones from McDonald's. It's the quaintest English street set in the heart of bustling London... but on closer inspection it shows the mark of recent times. Oversized CCTV cameras, graffiti, a Chinese take away shop plus heaps of tv antennas and wires sit beside old fashioned mailboxes and pretty potted flowers. That's London for you.

Backstreets

Scavenged through the backstreets behind Oxford Street last week in London looking for pretty places to take photos. Let me tell you, it's slim pickings. Loved dodging oncoming traffic and scary men dressed in black that crept up behind me... were they heading for my bags of sale goodies or the pub across the street? Never mind that.

So easy and perfect for summer days that fail to feel very summery.

For some unknown reason I'm craving all sorts of things that remind me of being a kid... like pony tails and little girly sandals with straps that go around the ankle. I've taken on a newly formed liking to pink and hearts. I'm not sure why this is happening.

The Swiss know how to do some things right. Like coffee and pretzels... but also Sundays. Just about everything is closed which can be frustrating if you're on the search for milk or sugar but it's actually pretty darn sweet. Most people can be found either sitting on their balconies, outside cafes, or playing chess in a little park that overlooks the Alps. As I spent most the weekend scrubbing the bathroom, mopping floors, and packing bags in preparation for moving flats... a Sunday afternoon spent drinking iced coffees and roaming the nearly empty streets of Zurich provided a much welcomed break.

For some unknown reason I'm craving all sorts of things that remind me of being a kid... like pony tails and little girly sandals with straps that go around the ankle. I've taken on a newly formed liking to pink and hearts plus each time I get an ice-cream cone it seems to melt so quickly that it drips down the sides and onto my fingers (surely the sort of thing you only see happening to zoned out little children en route to becoming seriously sticky). Maybe it's all this fresh air or the lack of a full time job... whatever it is, it's good and I'm liking it.

Wearing: pink satin sandals and leather miniskirt from Zara, white burnout t-shirt from Urban Outfitters, striped bag from Ikea with black Elizabeth Lau heart attached, Super sunglasses and YSL arty ring.
